MUSIC- What do we do without it?

Updated: Mar 29, 2022

Got some music? My foremost question if someone opens Spotify. I am a melomaniac. Whatever the circumstances, people find me with earbuds all the time- while cleaning, cooking, or doing any other chore. "Music is life itself" if you ask me. Music is like my altruistic firefighter. I feel aplomb whenever my music plays and without a doubt, music helped me to metamorphose.

Do you remember the feeling when you first heard that song by the band that later became your favorite band/artist in the world? Discovering new music repeatedly gives me butterflies. My Spotify is flooded with different music genres oftentimes. Nevertheless, my deep inclination is towards “la musica Latina”. It commenced when I started learning Spanish and that undivided attention towards Latin-American culture and language made me bashed with Latin-American music and as I dived in, I adored Bachata and Salsa genres.

From “Lag jaa gale se" to "Ajab si" hurdling to "Stand by me" & ultimately landed to "Te Robare", as a melomaniac settling on a certain "era" is like dodging a bullet. You just can’t stick to a particular era because it'll turn monotonous. The musical taste structure is shaped more like a parabola than a pyramid by proposing future directions for integrating qualitative and quantitative cultural sociology.

“Sometimes it’s not the song that makes you emotional… it’s the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.” As mentioned by an anonymous, from this quote the only thing I reminiscence is my brother. Well, I lost my brother a few months back and there's his “See you again”, which makes me sniveling. We both were into English songs, and we used to sing that song together. Whenever that song pops in, the giant wheel of memories spins across my mind.

In the end, I want to highlight-

“I have a therapist. Her name is music…”
