Updated: Apr 1, 2022

“If you can take care of your mind, you can take care of the world”

- Arianna Huffington

We obviously know what mental wellbeing is, but most of us don’t take it into account. Mental health plays a lead role in our daily life. This includes the way we talk, behave, the emotions we express, and much more. Taking care of our mental health is like fostering a baby.

I recently read an article which stated that ‘loneliness is equal of taking 15 cigarettes per day’, which is threatening but we have a hand full of solutions at free of cost that can make our lives much easier!

Here are 5 amazing tips which I follow to improve my mental health:

  • Journaling is my best friend! I journal during my free time. Journaling helps me keep a track of my thoughts and enhances my creativity as well. You can write anything you want which makes you happy or motivates you.

  • Learning a new skill will keep you engaged with some work. It can be painting, dancing, singing, writing a blog/story, doing research and so forth. Set a goal and keep focusing.

  • ·Exercise and meditation are very important in a person’s life. This can relieve your stress and maintain a good health. These two factors are the best medicines for most of the health issues.

  • Talk to someone or to yourself and vent your emotions. This can reduce burden from your heart. Talk to your loved ones or spend time with nature. Try to analyze your problem. Focus on the solution and not the problem. Remember, ‘every problem has a solution’.

  • Self-care is the best remedy for our mental health. Celebrate your small achievements and compliment yourself. Loving ourselves during our toughest times is the best gift we can give to ourselves.

There are many things in this world to discover. Take baby steps to improve your mental health. Involve yourself in extracurricular activities and see the difference! Be busy doing things you love. And just be yourself and appreciate your own beauty!
